Want less drama, hire an organizer

Does this sound familiar? Your friend had a question. You know the answer but she doesn’t want to hear it from you. She would rather hear the answer from a professional. I’m guilty on both sides. Sometimes it’s easier to believe the answer coming from a professional even if the answer is the same one given by you. This also applies to organizing.

Many parents want their children to clean their rooms and to get rid of no longer useful items. Often times the children are busy with schoolwork and after-school activities. They find cleaning up to be overwhelming and don’t know where to start or they lack the right storage space/furniture/containers to have a home for things. Drama entails when the bedroom is still not cleaned. Bringing in an organizer can help children to let go of things.

Working with an organizer can lessen the drama, helps children to focus, and give them ownership of the project.

A client referred me to her mother who initially wanted quality time with her adult children unpacking at her new, much smaller home. The children were already busy professionals with a family of their own. It was much more enjoyable for them to have quality time together on field trips or having meals together than dealing with parent’s stuff.

This also applies to couples where one or both need help with organization at home or in office. It’s often better for the relationship for partners not to be involved in their loved one’s personal items.
