I’ve been running in races for a number of years and of course, often gotten “free” t-shirts and other swag. For the most part, the t-shirts I’ve kept were a nice reminder of races I’ve completed. I’ve gotten rid of t-shirts that I wouldn’t wear because the color is not my best color, it came in the wrong size, or isn’t comfortable. If I don’t like the “stuff,” I don’t take it home. I do not need to keep all the swag from races I’ve done. Once my drawer cannot accommodate anymore new t-shirts from races, something will have to be tossed whether it’s the most recent one or an older piece.
I’d love to hear from you on how your deal with excessive souvenirs or swag.
Some people make quilts out of tee shirts to save the memories or because they are soft.
They can make great pillow cases or duvet covers.
Thanks, Myrtle, for sharing this tip.
