About a month after moving into my new apartment, it was such a liberating feeling to unpack my last huge duffel bag of clothes, all winter stuff that I didn’t need during the summer! My small bedroom already felt so much bigger with the oversized luggage gone! As I sorted through my winter clothes, I also realized there were some I didn’t want to keep anymore, since I hadn’t worn them the year before, or because they didn’t quite fit me the way they should (i.e. shrunken clothes from being mistakenly placed in the dryer, or styles that weren’t in fashion anymore). Now the clothes I still wear and love are less crowded in my drawers, plus I have room to add new things down the road. Personally, I find that the less I have, the easier it is to see the pieces I want to wear.
What did you find most liberating about the last time you cleaned out a box, suitcase, or storage area?
