Power cord while traveling

I’m sure this happened to you at least once, being out and about and your phone battery dies. You don’t have your power cord with you. It’s not the end of the world, right? Well, depends on the situation. I heavily use my phone for directions especially when I need to find the nearest charitable drop-off for a client or when I’m going to the next client in a different part of the city. Sometimes I need to reach my clients.

To avoid the problem, I always carry a power cord in my backpack. Once I didn’t put the cord back in after. Fortunately, I was able to borrow my client’s power cord while I was working with her. I did have a portable charger in my backpack as a backup, but not the cord to connect the two. We are only human. Mistakes do happen. Sometimes it’s a blessing in disguise to take a break from my phone.

That wasn’t the worst part. It’s pretty easy to borrow a phone power cord from someone. Laptop power cord is a different story. I was traveling out East and brought my laptop with me so I could do some work. I realized I didn’t pack a laptop power cord. So I immediately went to the nearest computer store and when that didn’t work, I ordered the charger online to deliver to where I was staying. Now I have two laptop chargers. I’m keeping that spare one in my suitcase to serve as a reminder that if I’m taking my laptop, I have a charger too. I do not wish to buy a third. As with my phone charger, I have one at home and one in my backpack. It even has my name on it so there’s no mix up when I’m charging elsewhere. Where do you keep your spare chargers?
